Last weekend the Florida Drupal community hosted its ninth annual Florida DrupalCamp (FLDC) at Florida Technical College in Orlando. It was a great success. At this point, we (the organizers) have a pretty good idea how to put on this event. (Since a good number of us have been involved in all nine iterations, (and all still seem to like each other!) some aspects of the camp organizing process are on veritable auto-pilot. We’re taking it up a couple notches this year down in Orlando for the 9th Florida DrupalCamp! We're expanding in every dimension we can find - highlighted by an opening day (Friday) of full-day workshops followed by two days (Saturday and half-day Sunday) of sessions! A few weeks ago, the Florida Drupal community (and more than a few honored out-of-town guests) gathered together for our annual event. This was the 8th Florida DrupalCamp, so the camp definitely had a familiar feel. As we normally do, we like to take a close look back and discuss what worked, what didn't, and how we can improve future events. This year's event was smaller than previous years - we had approximately 40 fewer attendees (216 total) that last year. Florida DrupalCamp 2015 - It's SSSSuper

For the sixth year in a row, Central Florida will host the Sunshine State's largest gathering of Drupalists for two full days of learning, networking, and sharing at Florida DrupalCamp 2015. To be held Saturday and Sunday, April 11-12, 2015 at Florida Technical College in Orlando, approximately 300 people will gather for a full day of sessions and a full day of community contributions. Attendees will be provided with knowledge, food, and clothing - and maybe a surprise or two as well!

Florida DrupalCamp 2014: Breaking New Ground

For the sixth consecutive year, Florida DrupalCamp will be one of the largest gathering of Drupal users in the southeast United States. Taking place on Saturday, March 8 (sessions) and Sunday, March 9 (community day), there’s no better way to level-up your skills, network with the Drupal community, and to remind you how awesome it is to be involved with this amazing project. Along with numerous other organizations, DrupalEasy is once again proud to help to sponsor and organize Florida DrupalCamp. Our amazing team of organizers from around the state (as from outside of Florida as well!) has decided to rethink a couple of the standard DrupalCamp “things” in an effort to make the event more productive for attendees and sponsors.

Keynote at DrupalCamp Connecticut

I'm honored to announce that I'll be giving the keynote at DrupalCamp Connecticut, to be held at Yale University on Saturday, August 10th. The organizers of the event no doubt have me confused with someone else, but I'm going to show up and give the keynote anyway (heh). Born and raised a Nutmegger, but now living in Florida, I still make frequent trips to The Constitution State to visit family and friends, and I've always tried to make time to attend a local meetup. My help in organizing one of the first meetups in Connecticut was cited as one of the reason I was asked to give this year's keynote. The topic for the keynote that I've decided upon is mentoring. I've got pretty strong feelings about how I think mentoring is just as valuable for the mentor as the mentee, as well as how I think it is just as important to our community as contributing code, contributing documentation, or acting as a community organizer.

We're super-excited to announce that we've been invited to present a half-day workshop during DrupalCamp Austin. The Camp takes place the weekend of June 21-23, 2013 and we'll be presenting "Getting Stuff into Drupal - Basics of Content Migration" from 1:30pm until 5:30pm on Saturday the 22nd. The workshop will cost $75 and we'll be covering the basics of three of the most common ways of importing content into Drupal: the Feeds, Migrate, and the Drupal-to-Drupal data migration (based on Migrate) modules.
