Khalid Baheyeldin is a co-founder of 2bits.com out of Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. They have been using Drupal since 2003, and now specialize in helping Drupal sites scale - normally with very little buzzword compliance. great interview

It was interesting to learn about the possibilities of keeping it simple drupal and memcache.
So many ways it is always good to hear from experience.
I will be listening again and may have some more questions as I personally am trying to choose some new hosting options for our clients.

Virtual Server

While having the ability to run off of a dedicated server is ideal, it is often affordable for small and upstart businesses. This is why I use a virtual server which allows the ability to have a large hand in configuration while not having as large as a price tag attached. This way the business and the sites are able to grow together. If it is successful, the business will then be able to justify the cost of of a dedicated server.
